Police arrested 21 leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami from Chamagram village in Chapainawabganj Sadar upazila on Monday night, reports our correspondent. They also seized 500 grams of gunpowder and 30 crude bombs from their possession. They were arrested on charge of planning subversive activities, said Mazharul Islam, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station. In Naogaon, a Jamaat leader was held on charge of his suspected militant link in Raninagar upazila of the district yesterday. The arrestee is Belal Hossain, 43, organisational secretary of the upazila unit of Jamaat, reports our Dinajpur correspondent.
