20 injured as Kushtia AL men clash
At least 20 people were injured when two rival factions of the ruling Awami League clashed over establishing supremacy in Kumarkhali upazila of the district yesterday.
During the hour long clash about 10 houses at Banshgram village were also vandalised.
Of the injured, Kapil Uddin, 45, Tayeb Ali, 55, Helal Uddin, 30, and Imran Hossain, 22, were admitted to Kushtia Medical College Hospital, while the rest at different private clinics.
Quoting locals, police said as a sequel to previous rivalry over establishing control in the locality, two groups, one led by Ali Hossain, joint secretary of Bagulat union unit of AL, and another by Jamal Uddin, incumbent chairman of the Bagulat UP, attacked each other around 1:00pm.
