2 wounded Santal men sent to jail
A Gaibandha court today sent two Santal men, who were injured and arrested in a case filed for attacking police during a clash on November 6 at Gobindaganj upazila, to jail.
Gaibandha Judicial Magistrate ASM Taskinul Haque passed the order after police produced Choron Soren, 52, and Bimal Kisku, 38, before it this afternoon, reports our local correspondent.

They were sent to jail this afternoon, a day into the High Court directed the law enforcers to remove their handcuffs while undergoing treatment at Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RMCH).
Following the court order, a tense situation is prevailing at Madarpurpara, Joypurhatpara, Harinmari and Golapganj, reports our correspondent visiting the areas.
Choron and Bimal were admitted to Rangpur Medical College College Hospital (RMCH) with bullet wounds in their legs on November 6, while 36-year-old Dijen Tudu was referred to National Institute of Ophthalmology in Dhaka with eye injuries.

The three were arrested on November 7 after Gobindaganj police filed the case against 34 named and 300 unnamed people for allegedly attacking the law enforcers. They were being treated at different hospitals with their hands cuffed and tied.
The clash ensued between indigenous people and sugarcane labourers as well as police at Shahebganj over harvesting sugarcane, leaving three Santals dead and 25 people, including nine cops, injured.
