2 workers die after fall from construction site in Dhaka

Two construction workers died after a scaffolding collapsed while they were working on the fourth floor of an under-construction building in Dhaka's Bashundhara Residential Area this morning.

The deceased were identified as Asadul Islam (25) of Rajshahi and Khairul Islam (20) of Chapainawabganj. Both of them lived at the construction site.

Around 10:00am, the scaffolding collapsed as the rope somehow tore off. The two were critically injured after the fall.

Both were rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared them dead, said Bachchu Mia, inspector of DMCH Police Outpost.

The bodies were kept at the hospital morgue for autopsy.
