2 women held with 16,000 Yaba pills

Coastguards yesterday arrested two women with 16,000 Yaba tablets from Raipur area in Anwara upazila of Chittagong district.

The arrestees are Chimona Begum, 40, and Jahanara Begum, 40, of Gohira village in the upazila.

A team of Bangladesh Coastguards, acting on a tip-off, raided Godaraghat Bridge area in the morning and arrested the duo along with the Yaba pills wrapped in two small plastic bags, Lieutenant Commander Omar Faruk of Bangladesh Coastguard (east zone) said.

The arrestees were later handed over to Anwara Police Station.
