2 Jamaat-Shibir men held

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested two leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir from their house in Badalgachhi upazila of Naogaon early yesterday.

They also recovered jihadi books and leaflets from their possession.

The arrestees are Jamal Uddin, 58, president of Mathurapur union unit of Jamaat, and his son Saiful Islam, 22, president of the union unit of Shibir.

On secret information, the elite force raided the house at Durgapur village in the upazila and arrested the two with the jihadi books and leaflets, said Major Arafat Hossain, commander of Rab-3.

The arrestees are accused in an arson case, said police.
