2 including ex-UP member stabbed dead in Natore

Two siblings including a former union-level member were stabbed to death and another sibling was injured by unknown assailants in Singra upazila of Natore early today.

Deceased Mojaffar Ali was former member of ward no. 6 of Dhahia union parishad and his brother, Hashen Ali of Borogram upazila and the injured brother is Mohsin Ali, reports our local correspondent.

The victims came under the attack following a conflict between Mojaffar and his cousin Yunus Ali, a member of Dhahia union, said Rafiqul Islam, assistant superintendent of police (Sadar circle) of Natore.

"Supporters of Yunus attacked the victims at their house around 5:00am with sharp weapons, leaving Mojaffar dead on the spot and his brothers, Mizan and Mohsin injured," ASP Rafiqul added.

Of them, Mizan was declared dead at Singra Upazila Health Complex.

No case was filed. Four people were detained in connection with the incident, police said.
