2 held with firearms

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested two alleged arms traders with firearms from Doulatbari village in Shibganj upazila of the district early yesterday. The arrestees are Atikul Islam, 27, son of Toffazul Islam, and Jobdul Haque, 30, son of Jahangir Hossain of the village. On information, a team of Rab-5 raided the area around 2:50am and arrested Atikul Islam and Jobdul Haque with two foreign made pistols, four magazines and 14 bullets, said Alok Biswas, assistant superintendent of police of Rab-5. A case was filed against the duo under the Arms Act.
