2 cops hurt in bomb attack by robbers
Two police constables were injured as robbers threw bombs on them during a robbery at Kedarganj Bazar in Mujibnagar upazila of Meherpur district on Sunday night.
Kazi Kamal Hossain, officer-in-charge (OC) of Mujibnagar Police Station, said a gang of armed robbers was breaking the locks of a shop at Kedarganj bazar to commit robbery at around midnight when two constables of a team of the police station, who were patrolling the area, saw the robbers and tried to catch them.
The robbers threw two crude bombs on the policemen, leaving them injured, and fled the scene.
Later, the patrol team rescued the injured constables and admitted them to Mujibnagar Upazila Health Complex.
Police are conducting drives to nab the robbers, the OC said.
