18 sued on charge of killing pharmaceutical sales rep

A case was filed with Nagarpur Police Station on Tuesday night, accusing 18 people of killing a sales representative of a pharmaceutical company on April 19.

The victim, SM Amirul Huda, was a senior sales representative of Leon Pharmaceuticals in Tangail.

The victim's elder brother Nazmul Huda filed the case with the police station the same night, accusing 18 named and four to five unnamed people.

According to the case statement, the accused hacked Amirul, 47, of Tebaria village, in Salimabad area while he was returning home by a motorcycle on April 19.

Locals rescued seriously injured Amirul and took him to Tangail Medical College Hospital.

Doctors at the hospital referred Amirul to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) the same night. As his condition deteriorated on the way to DMCH, his relatives admitted him to Enam Medical College Hospital in Savar.

Amirul was on life support, and died at the hospital on April 23.

Immediately after the incident, police arrested one Nurul Islam, 45, of Tebaria village from Salimabad School Ground. He was later shown as arrested as an accused in the case.
