17-yr-old stabbed to death in capital’s Kamrangichar
A 17-year-old boy was stabbed to death allegedly by a colleague in Dhaka's Kamrangirchar area this evening.
The victim was identified as Shayan Hasan, 17, an employee of Apan Boutique Printing factory in Hasannagar area.
The incident took place around 6:45pm in front of the factory following an altercation between Shayan and another worker Siraj.
Siraj rushed to his nearby house, brought back a knife and stabbed Shayan in the chest and thigh, leaving him critically injured, their colleague Rakib said.
Rakib and some others took Shayan to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead around 7:30pm.
Rakib is on the run after the murder.
The victim's sister Brishti Akhter told reporters at DMCH that her brother used to study in class-nine in a local school but took a job in the factory two weeks back.
DMCH Police Outpost in-charge Bachchu Mia said the body has been kept in the hospital morgue for autopsy.
