15 Jamaat-Shibir men detained
Fifteen Jamaat-Shibir men were held in Kushtia and Rangpur districts in the last two days.
Police arrested 13 activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir, student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami, from two dormitories of Kushtia Medical College Hospital (KMCH) on Tuesday.
They also seized different types of jihadi books from their possession, reports our correspondent.
The Shibir men were arrested on charge of planning subversive activities in the town, said Additional Superintendent of Police Zoynal Abedi Raju.
Yesterday, the arrestees were produced before a court which sent them to jail, said police.
In Rangpur, the law enforcers arrested two Jamaat leaders in Pirgachha and Gangachara upazilas early yesterday, reports our Dinajpur correspondent.
Wahedul Haque, 40, general secretary of Betdighi union unit of Jamaat, is a charge-sheeted accused in an arson case, said Nazrul Islam, officer-in-charge of Gangachara Police Station.
In Pirgachha upazila, police arrested Md Mosaraf Hossain, 35, son of late Hazrat Ali of Jigabari village, from his house around 4:00am.
The arrestees were later produced before a court which sent them to jail.
