12 killed in Chattogram road crash

At least 12 people were killed and several others injured when a human-haulier and a salt-laden truck collided head first on the Chattogram-Cox's Bazar Highway this evening.

The incident took place around 9:30pm at Danglalia area under Lohagora upazila when the human haulier and the truck collided, leaving the 12 dead on the spot, said Afruzul Haque Tutul, assistant superintendent of police (South Chattogram).

On information, police went to the spot and have been conducting rescue operation till filing of this report around 10:30pm.

The number of injured and the identities of the victims could not be known immediately.
