10 firearms recovered in Cox’s Bazar, one held

The members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) today recovered 10 firearms raiding an illegal "arms-making factory" at Ukhia upazila of Cox's Bazar.

They also recovered arms-making materials and detained a person during the two-hour-long drive starting from 4:00pm, said Muhammad Sarafat Islam, company commander of Crime Prevention Company-2 of Rab-7.

Acting on a tip-off, the Rab members conducted the drive in Choankhali area and unearthed the "factory", the Rab official told our local correspondent.

Six local guns, a shooter gun and three partially made pistols and four bullets and some firearms-making equipment were recovered from the spot, said Lt Col Miftah Uddin Ahmed, commanding officer of Rab-7.

The detainee was identified as Kashem, 75, of Choankhali area, he added.
