Bogura under lockdown from today
Bogura district will be brought under lockdown from today to combat the spread of coronavirus.
Local administration took the decision following a meeting of the district's coronavirus prevention and control committee in the morning, our Bogura correspondent reports, quoting Civil Surgeon Gaosul Azim Chowdhury.
Confirming it to The Daily Star, Deputy Commissioner Foyej Ahmed said, "We will announce it through a notice after getting a formal letter from the civil surgeonshortly."
"The lockdown will remain effective until further notice. No one can enter or exit the district once the lockdown starts,"said the civil surgeon.
All kinds of transport, public gathering, and public movement will be restricted during the closure, he added.
Business establishments will also remain closed, but emergency services like -- food outlets and medical services -- will remain out of purview of the lockdown, said the civil surgeon.
