BNP to hold rally on Jan 7

BNP has sought permission from authorities concerned to hold a rally at Dhaka’s Suhrawardy Udyan on January 7 to mark it as “death of democracy day”.

The party observes the day on January 5 every year since 2014 protesting the one-sided general election that year.

BNP Joint Secretary General Rizvi Ahmed announced the rally while addressing a press conference at the party’s Nayapaltan central office today.

To observe the day, BNP has also chalked out several programmmes including processions with black flags and wearing black badges.
