2 pry education officials held for ‘bribery’ in Thakurgaon

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) this morning detained two officials of District Primary Education Office (DPEO) in Thakurgaon on charges of taking bribe.

The arrestees are Anisur Rahman, assistant district primary education officer, and Zulfiqar Ali, office assistant of DPEO, our Thakurgaon correspondent reports quoting ACC Deputy Director in Dinajpur Abu Hena Ashiqur Rahman.

A team of ACC led by Abu Hena Ashiqur Rahman recovered Tk 50,000 from the drawer of Zulfiqar Ali during the drive at his office around 10:00am.

The duo was arrested based on specific allegations of bribery against them, the ACC official said adding that legal actions will be taken against them.

Anisur and Zulfiqar were handed over to Thakurgaon Police Station.
