Abrar Fahad murder case transferred to Speedy Trial Tribunal

The Abrar Fahad murder case was transferred to the Speedy Trial Tribunal-1 of Dhaka for quick disposal.

Judge KM Emrul Kayesh of the Dhaka Metropolitan Session Judges Court passed the order today in the presence of 22 of the 25 accused in the case.

Earlier, the government decided to hold trial of the case at Speedy Trial Tribunal-1. In line with the government decision, the law ministry sent a letter to the metropolitan session judge court of Dhaka that was holding the trial.

The Speedy Trial Tribunal-1 of Dhaka fixed April 6 for hearing on charge framing against the accused.

Abrar, a second-year student of electrical and electronic engineering department of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, died after he was brutally beaten allegedly by some Chhatra League men at Sher-e-Bangla hall of the university on early hours of October 7.
