Coronavirus: Another infected in Sunamganj

Another Sunamganj woman has tested positive for Covid-19 today.

The 25 year old from Sunamganj Sadar upazila was referred to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital from Sunamganj Sadar Hospital five days ago, said Dr Anisur Rahman, assistant director of Sylhet Divisional DGHS office.

She has been taken to the Corona Isolation Centre at Saheed Shamsuddin Ahmed Hospital and her family and neighbours are being taken into quarantine as per protocol, he added.

The woman gave birth at the hospital in Sylhet, but her sample was collected after she started showing symptoms of coronavirus, said Dr Premananda Mandal, civil surgeon of Sylhet.

The doctors and nurses, who came into contact with her at the hospital, are now under quarantine.

Her husband returned from Narayanganj a couple of weeks ago. Doctors and nurses of Sunamganj Sadar Hospital, who came in contact with her, have also been quarantined, said Dr Shams Uddin, civil surgeon of Sunamganj.
