10 more coronavirus patients die, 390 test positive in 24hrs: DGHS

73 percent of the total infected from Dhaka division

Ten people died of coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours, Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said today.

The death toll now stands at 120, Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, additional director general (administration) of the DGHS, said during a briefing.

Three hundred and ninety have tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. With this, the total number of infected has reached 3,772.

A total of 3,096 samples were tested across the country since yesterday, which is 4.1 percent more than the previous day, Dr Nasima said.

Meanwhile five more made recovery from the decease, taking the recovery toll to 92.

Among the 10 deceased, three were female. Seven were from Dhaka while one each from Narayanganj, Tangail and Mymensingh.

Age-wise, three of the deceased were above 60, two 51-60, three between 41-50 and two 21-30.

A total of 150 were put under isolation around the country since yesterday.

So far, people with Covid-19 have been detected in 55 districts out of 64 in the country, Dr Nasima also said.

Among the total infected, 73 percent are from Dhaka division, she added.
