Narail’s Lohagarah locked down after 3 doctors among 5 test Covid-19 positive
Narail's Lohagarah upazila was declared locked down today after three doctors and two staffers of Lohagarah Upazila Health Complex tested positive for coronavirus.
Narail Civil Surgeon Dr Abdul Momen confirmed the matter to our Bagerhat correspondent this noon.
"The infected doctors and staffers of Lohagarah Upazila Health Complex are undergoing treatment," he said.
He said that a total of 66 samples have been collected from Narail district and sent to Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) for coronavirus testing.
Tests of five samples came back positive this morning, Dr Abdul Momen said.
Earlier, on April 13, a man tested positive for Covid-19 in Narail's Lohagarah upazila as the first confirmed coronavirus case in the district.
Anjuman Ara, deputy commissioner of Narail, said that the treatment of infected doctors and staffers was underway, keeping them at home.
"Although their reports are positive, their physical condition is relatively good. We have already locked down Lohagara upazila," the DC added.
