8 health workers including doctors of Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital test Covid-19 positive

Eight health staffers, including three doctors and two nurses, of Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital have tested positive for Covid-19.

Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital confirmed the cases last night, our Moulvibazar correspondent reports, quoting the district's Civil Surgeon Dr Towhid Ahmed.

On May 3, hospital authorities sent the samples of 120 staffers, including doctors and nurses, to the Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital laboratory and the test results of eight of them showed positive for coronavirus, said the civil surgeon. 

The infected staffers were asked to self-isolate at home soon after receiving the test results last night, the civil surgeon said, adding that they are physically well.

A caretaker and a technician of the hospital were diagnosed with the virus two days back and they were also asked to self-isolate at home.
