5 ICU nurses of SOMCH infected with Covid-19

Five nurses of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital (SOMCH) have tested positive with coronavirus.

With the five, a total of 13 people have been infected with the virus in Sylhet district in the last 24 hours, said Dr Anisur Rahman, assistant director (disease control) of Sylhet divisional health office.

Dr Himangshu Lal Roy, deputy director of SOMCH, said as part of their routine check-up, they sent samples of 14 nurses to the hospital laboratory for coronavirus test.

The laboratory confirmed the five cases last night, said the doctor.

"Of them, three were sent to isolation centre of Shaheed Shamsuddin Ahmed Hospital in the district and two were asked to stay in home quarantine. All they are physically well," he added.
