Coronavirus outbreak: Supreme Court suspends most activities in lower court

The Supreme Court today issued a circular announcing postponement of most activities of the lower court, except those dealing with bails, temporary bans and other emergency tasks, for a "reasonable period" amid the Coronavirus outbreak.

In a circular signed by Md Ali Akbar, registrar general of the SC, it said the postponement was needed to avoid mass gathering on the lower court premises.

The circular issued in line with the directive of the chief justice will be effective immediately, it said.
