Courts to remain closed till May 16

Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain, in line with the government's decision, has extended the ongoing closure of all courts across the country, including the Appellate and High Court Divisions of the Supreme Court, till May 16 due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Supreme Court Registrar General Md Ali Akbar issued a circular today to this effect saying all courts of the country will remain shut from May 7 to May 14, with the following two days being scheduled weekly holidays.

Closure of the courts across the country was first declared from March 26 to April 4 due to the coronavirus outbreak. 

The closure was extended a further six times.
