Two isolated with coronavirus symptoms in Sylhet

A youth and an 80-year-old woman have been admitted at the Corona Isolation Centre at Sylhet Saheed Shamsuddin Ahmed Hospital with coronavirus-like symptoms.

"The youth, a student of a university, came to the hospital last night with symptoms and we admitted him," said Sushanta Kumar Mahapatro, resident medical officer of the hospital.

He came in touch with some Europe returnees recently, he said.

Besides, the elderly woman came to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital with similar symptoms and then she was referred to the isolation centre, reports our Sylhet correspondent quoting Mahapatro.

Samples of both will be collected and sent to IEDCR soon, he added.

Meanwhile, an elderly UK returnee man who was admitted to the hospital on Thursday, hours after landing at Sylhet Osmani International Airport with fever, was diagnosed negative in coronavirus test.
