Sinopharm vaccines being administered from today at DMCH

Bangladesh has started administering the Chinese Covid-19 vaccine Sinopharm from today.

Health Minister Zahid Maleque inaugurated the inoculation of the Covid-19 vaccine at Dhaka Medical College Hospital this noon.

On the first day, 157 fifth-year students of Dhaka Medical College will receive the jabs.

According to the officials, all government medical students and frontline healthcare workers will get the Chinese vaccines gradually.

On May 12, Bangladesh government received five lakh doses of the Covid-19 vaccine developed by the Chinese government company Sinofarm as gift.

Besides, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has confirmed his Bangladeshi counterpart on May 19 that they will send another six lakh shots of same vaccines as gift.
