The government has changed its original plan and will administer the second dose of Covid-19 vaccine eight weeks after the first dose.

Prof ABM Khurshid Alam, director general of the health directorate, confirmed this to The Daily Star today.

"We have observed good response from people to get vaccinated and it is gaining momentum. Considering this, the National Immunization Committee on Vaccine has made the decision," Prof Alam said.

Earlier, the government said the second jab would be given four weeks after the first dose.
