Saudi expat found Covid-19 positive after death in Chattogram
A Saudi expatriate, who died on Monday morning at his home in Enayet Bazar area of Chattogram city, was found Covid-19 positive in the evening.
The 51-year old had returned from Saudi Arabia in January and had been suffering from cough, fever and respiratory problems, said Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, civil surgeon of Chattogram.
"Samples were collected from the man a few days back. As the man died on Monday morning, we wanted his result on emergency basis and in the evening the test report came positive," he said.
The man was buried with the help of Chattogram City Corporation, the civil surgeon added.
Meanwhile, local administration has put under lockdown the building where the man lived.
Md Mohsin, officer-in-charge of Kotowali Police Station, told The Daily Star that they put the building under lockdown and 12 families living there were placed in home quarantine.
