Pfizer vaccines to be administered as per registration list at 4 Dhaka centres

Pfizer Covid-19 vaccines will be administered according to the registration list, Health Minister Zahid Maleque said today.

"Vaccinations will continue simultaneously with both Pfizer and Sinopharm. Another six lakh Sinopharm vaccines from China will arrive on June 13; then we will start administering Pfizer vaccines too as per the [registration] list," Zahid Maleque said while talking to journalists following an event in Dhaka.

The minister informed that the Pfizer vaccine diluent will arrive tonight. Afterward, the vaccine will be administered at four centres in Dhaka.

Regarding the Sinopharm vaccine, he said, "We are going to reach an agreement with Sinopharm so that they give us 1.5 crore vaccines in the next three months."

Replying to whether the government will buy the Sinovac vaccine, the minister said, "If they [Sinovac] can give vaccines here and can produce jointly with a local company, we will give them the opportunity."

He also said that signing an agreement with Russia for the Sputnik V vaccine will be finalised soon.
