Health ministry allocated Tk 200cr more to combat spread of coronavirus

The health ministry has received an allocation of Tk 200 crore in additional funds for taking necessary measures to contain the spread of coronavirus in the country and to treat patients.

The finance ministry informed the health ministry about the allocation of additional funds in a letter yesterday afternoon.

Earlier on Wednesday, Health Minister Zahid Maleque informed Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal about the need for additional funds to combat the spread of coronavirus.

The finance minister later told journalists on Wednesday that the health ministry will be allocated additional funds as per requirements.

The health ministry was previously allocated Tk 50 crore for this purpose.
