Covid-19 vaccination: health minister inaugurates app for nurses
The health minister inaugurated an app, "Surokkha Covid-19 Vaccine Prodan App", at Kurmitola General Hospital in Dhaka around noon today.
The Surokkha mobile app for Covid-19 vaccine registration was supposed to launch in late January. Last night, the health ministry notified Health Minister Zahid Maleque "will inaugurate Surokkha app" today.
Several media also reported that the Surokkha app is open for people now.
After the inauguration, however, it was learnt that the inaugurated app is not Surokkha. It was the "Surokkha Covid-19 Vaccine Prodan App" for nurses to use at the vaccination centres.
Using the app, the nurses at the vaccination centers can scan the QR codes on vaccine cards after vaccinating people, and the report will automatically be uploaded to the server.
While inaugurating the app, the minister said, "Through this app, our Covid-19 vaccination programme's capability has gone one step further."
When contacted with the concerned official of the DGHS, he said, "The app is for the employees involved in the vaccination campaign. Also, the work of the Surokkha vaccine registration app is not complete yet."
