Covid-19: death toll crosses 4,000 mark

45 die, 2,545 infected, 3,881 recover in 24 hours

The total number of deaths due to Covid-19 in the country has reached 4,028 with 45 new deaths recorded in the last 24 hours, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The death rate stands at 1.34 percent.

Two thousand five hundred and forty-five people have tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, adds the press release. 

With the fresh cases, the total number of positive cases so far in the country stands at 2,99,628 and the current positivity rate is 17.98 percent.

The total positivity rate stands at 20.38 percent, according to the release.

A total of 14,153 samples were tested across the country in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, 3,881 Covid-19 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours.

The total number of recoveries stands at 1,86,756 and the recovery rate at 62.33 percent.

Eight hundred and six people were put under isolation in the last 24 hours, the release added.

Among the deceased, 32 were male and 13 were female while one was 21-30 years old, one between 31-40, six between 41-50, 10 within 51-60 and 27 were above 60 years old.
