Covid-19 claims life of another police personnel
Another police personnel, who had earlier tested positive for coronavirus, died at a hospital in Dhaka yesterday.
Abdul Alim Mollah, an assistant sub-inspector of Natore District Police, breathed his last around 2:30pm while undergoing treatment at Central Police Hospital in Dhaka, according to a release by the Police Headquarters (PHQ).
He was admitted to the hospital on September 5 and was later shifted to the intensive care unit, it added.
Alim, who hailed from Joypurhat district, joined Bangladesh Police as a constable in 1995.
He leaves behind his wife and two children as well as many relatives and loved ones.
His body was sent to his native village and buried there following health directives and in the presence of senior district police officials, it added.
With Alim, at least 74 members of the force have so far lost their lives due to Covid-19 infection.
