Covid-19: Bangladesh Bank change management adviser dies

The change management adviser of the Bangladesh Bank died today from coronavirus at the age of 75.

Allah Malik Kazemi breathed his last at 5:00pm while taking treatment at Ever Care Hospital in the capital, said Abul Kalam Azad, a general manager and assistant spokesperson of the central bank.

Kazemi, also a former deputy governor of the central bank, had been undergoing treatment at the hospital for the last few days after he tested positive for Covid-19.

He had started working as an adviser of the central bank after his retirement from the institution in 2008.

Kazemi, who made a name for himself both home and abroad due to his outstanding skill in framing monetary policy, is the second official of the banking watchdog to of Covid-19. Last week, Joint Director Sheikh Farid Uddin of BB had died after contracting the virus.
