Covid-19: 34 die, 1,792 infected, 2,474 recover in 24 hours

In the last 24 hours, thirty-four people have died from Covid-19 in the country, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

With this, the number of deaths in the country has now reached 4,668 and the death rate stands at 1.39 percent.

A total of 1,792 new infections were recorded in the meantime taking the total number of people infected to 3,34,762, the press release added.

The current positivity rate is 12.15 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 19.64 percent.

A total of 14,747 samples were tested across the country in the last 24 hours. In the same time 2,474 Covid-19 patients have recovered.

The total number of recoveries stands at 2,36,024 and the recovery rate at 70.51 percent.

Three hundred and forty-five people were newly put under isolation in the last 24 hours.

Among the deceased, 24 were male and nine were female while one was between 31-40 years old, one within 41-50, 16 between 51-60 and 16 were above 60 years old.
