Covid-19: 34 die, 1,282 infected, 2,247 recover in 24 hours

Thirty-four people have died from Covid-19 in the country during the last 24 hours, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of deaths has now reached 4,702 and the death rate stands at 1.40 percent.

A total of 1,282 new infections were recorded in the meantime taking the total number of people infected to 3,36,044, added the press release.

The current positivity rate is 11.96 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 19.59 percent.

A total of 10,723 samples were tested across the country in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, 2,247 Covid-19 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours.

The total number of recoveries stands at 2,38,271 and the recovery rate at 70.90 percent.

Three hundred and thirty-eight people were put under isolation in the last 24 hours, the release added.

Among the deceased 23 were male and 11 were female while, one is under 10 years old, one 11-20 years old, one 31-40 years old, five within 41-50, seven between 51-60 and 19 were above 60 years old.
