Covid-19: 15 die, 391 infected, 678 recovered in 24 hours

Fifteen people have died from Covid-19 in the country in 24 hours (till 8am today), according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of deaths has now reached 8,329 and the death rate stands at 1.53 percent.

A total of 391 new infections were recorded in the meantime taking the total number of people infected to 5,42,268, added the release.

The current positivity rate is 2.68 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.87percent.

A total of 14,603 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours (till 8am today). In this time, 678 Covid-19 patients have recovered. The total number of recoveries stands at 4,89,932 and the recovery rate at 90.35 percent.

Among the 15 deceased, 12 were men and three were women. Of them, one was between 11-20 years old, one within 41-50, four between 51-60 and nine others were above 60 years old, added the release.
