Covid-19: 13 die, 396 infected, 751 recover in last 24 hours

Thirteen people have died from Covid-19 in the country in 24 hours (till 8am today), according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of deaths has now reached 8,298 and the death rate stands at 1.53 percent.

A total of 396 new infections were recorded in the meantime taking the total number of people infected to 5,41,434 added the release.

The current positivity rate is 2.68 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.97 percent.

A total of 14,788 samples were tested across the country in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, 751 Covid-19 patients have recovered in 24 hours (till 8am today). The total number of recoveries stands at 4,88,621 and the recovery rate at 89.94 percent.

Among the 13 deceased, 10 were men and three women while one was under 10 years old, one between 31-40, two within 41-50, three between 51-60 and six others were above 60 years old, added the release.
