The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has imposed the highest alert at different areas along the Bangladesh-India border in Jashore's Benapole to prevent suspected coronavirus-infected people from trespassing into Bangladesh side.

The BGB patrol system has been extended in the area in this regard, reports our Benapole correspondent quoting Lt Col Selim Reza, commanding officer of Jashore-49 BGB.

The highest alert was imposed at the border areas immediately after the cases of coronavirus infection in the country were diagnosed, the official said.

At night, there are rules on stopping the movement of people within 70km border areas under strengthened patrol system, he said.

The BGB personnel have been seen patrolling the area equipped with masks, hand sanitisers and hand gloves as precautionary measures. The BGB outposts at the border areas have been provided with sufficient light at night, the commanding officer also said.
