Benapole police generate Covid-19 awareness in land port area

To curb the spread of Indian Covid-19 variant, now known as the "Delta" variant, Benapole Land Port Police are reminding those returning from India to follow hygiene laws as well as distributing face masks and hand sanitisers among them.

Police have also increased surveillance to prevent Indian truck drivers from leaving the port, our Benapole correspondent reports.

Mamun Khan, officer-in-charge of Benapole Land Port Police Station, launched a programme this morning to distribute masks and hand sanitisers among people returning from India at the terminal.

He said the police are continuously reminding everyone to follow hygiene rules strictly to stop the spread of Covid-19. They are also confirming the institutional quarantine of all returnees from India.

Immigration Police Officer-in-Charge Ahsan Habib confirmed that 56 people returned from India today.
