Banshkhali upazila in Chattogram put under lockdown

The local administration today put Banshkhali upazila of Chattogram under lockdown in an effort to contain the spread and transmission of coronavirus.

The lockdown came into effect from 6:00pm today and will continue until further notice is issued in this regard, our correspondent reports quoting Upazila Nirbahi Officer Momena Akther.

The district administration today held a meeting with the upazila coronavirus prevention committee and came up with the lockdown announcement, the UNO said.

She said Banshkhali upazila is connected to three adjoining upazilas and those have already put under lockdown due to rise of coronavirus cases in the area, she said.
