Bangladesh to get 1.06 lakh shots of Pfizer by 1st week of June
Bangladesh will receive 1.06 lakh jabs of Pfizer vaccine by the first week of June under Covax arrangement, Prof ABM Khurshid Alam, the Director General of the Health Directorate said.
The dilutor- a mandatory element to prepare the vaccine for use may arrive on Sunday.
"They (Covax authority) have informed us of these tentative dates. This vaccine requires special storage facility," Prof ABM Khurshid Alam told The Daily Star tonight.
The Directorate General of Drug Administration (DGDA) issued emergency use authorisation (EUA) to the Pfizer mRNA Covid-19 vaccine in the country today.
The EUA was issued as per recommendation of the committee for the evaluation of drug, investigational drug, vaccine and medical device in case of public health emergency, said a press release signed by Maj Gen Md Mahbubur Rahman, director general of DGDA.
