74,000 people registered online to take Covid-19 vaccine: DGHS

Some 74,000 people have registered online as of this morning to take vaccines ahead of the countrywide inoculation campaign slated to begin on February 7, Prof ABM Khurshid Alam, the director general of the health directorate said.

He briefed journalists following a meeting with directors of different hospitals at his office this morning.

The registration for the vaccine is a continuous process and it will continue even after launching countrywide inoculation, he said.

"To encourage people, the health directorate has stepped up with publicity through involving public representatives and advertisement," he added.

Prof Khurshid also said the health minister and other health officials would take vaccine on the first day of the vaccination campaign.
