6 including civil surgeon and 2 doctors test Covid-19 positive in Jamalpur

Jamalpur civil surgeon and five others tested positive for Covid-19 in the district today.

KM Shafiquzzaman, deputy civil surgeon of Jamalpur, said the district civil surgeon, two physicians of Jamalpur General Hospital and three other persons have tested coronavirus positive.

Two of the three patients are brothers, he said, adding that the siblings, aged 28 and 32, were undergoing treatment at the general hospital and the other patient, around 30, is a resident of Sadar upazila.

The civil surgeon and the two doctors will stay isolated at their residences and the three others will be kept at the isolation centre at a newly constructed building of Sheikh Hasina Medical College in the district town, the deputy civil surgeon said.

The latest cases bring the tally of infected people in the district to 57, including 10 doctors and 16 health workers, Shafiquzzaman told our local correspondent.
