325 people fined for violating physical distancing rules in 3 districts
Local administrations in Lalmonirhat, Kurigram and Bagerhat districts have fined 325 people for violating physical distancing rules undertaken to prevent transmission and spread of coronavirus in the country.
In Lalmonirhat, the local administration started operating at least 40 mobile courts in five upazilas from Friday and fined 160 people, realising Tk 1.80 lakh till today for violating physical distancing rules, our local correspondent reports quoting Abu Jafor, deputy commissioner of the district.
In Kurigram, a similar number of mobile courts fined 70 people in nine districts and realised Tk 1.75 lakh from them, Rezaul Karim, deputy commissioner of the district said.
Besides in Bagerhat, mobile courts in the last 24 hours fined 95 people and realised Tk 63,250 from them for not complying with the physical distancing rules.
Md Shahinuzzaman, additional district magistrate of Bagerhat, said at least 30 mobile courts are working in the field to ensure people stay at home and maintain physical distance to prevent the spread of the virus.
The mobile courts will continue until further notice is issued by the administration in this regard, he added.
