2 more test positive for Covid-19 in Chattogram
Two persons tested positive for the novel coronavirus in Chattogram today.
The patients, both males aged between 35 years and 50 years, hail from the port city's Firingi Bazar and Akbar Shah areas, said Dr Hasan Shahriar Kabir, Chattogram divisional director of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
One of them has been placed under isolation at his residence while the other has been taken to the Bangladesh Institute of Tropical and Infectious Diseases (BITID), Abdul Warish, deputy commissioner (special branch) of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP), told The Daily Star.
The residence of one of the patients at Firingi Bazar area, an 11-storey building, has been locked down around 10:00pm while officials were taking preparations to lock down the other patient's residence in Akbar Shah area, the deputy commissioner said.
Two doctors, to whom the patient from Firingi Bazar area had gone for consultation, have been placed in home quarantine, the police official added
So far seven people have tested positive for the virus in the port city.
Meanwhile, a total of 94 samples have been tested at the Bangladesh Institute of Tropical and Infectious Diseases (BITID) today, said Prof Shakil Ahmed of BITID.
