17 of 63 Chapainawabganj returnees to Moulvibazar test Covid-19 positive
Seventeen of 63 people who returned from Chapainawabganj have been diagnosed with Covid-19 in Moulvibazar this evening.
Moulvibazar Civil Surgeon Chowdhury Jalal Uddin Murshed told our Moulvibazar correspondent that the patients have been kept under quarantine and in observation.
According to sources at the civil surgeon office, a group of small traders who returned to Moulvibazar's Srimangal from Chapainawabganj last week were chosen for Covid-19 tests.
Their samples were collected on Monday and the results came positive for coronavirus in the evening today.
The returnees went to visit their ancestral homes in Chapainawabganj during Eid-ul-Fitr.
Moulvibazar Sadar Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Abeda Begum said, "The colonies where the returnees live have been locked down and red flags were hoisted in the areas with the help of the municipality mayor and the administration."
