166 more Bangladeshis return from India
A total of 166 Bangladeshis, who were stranded in India's Chennai for over a month, returned to Dhaka on a special flight of the US-Bangla Airlines today.
"Carrying the Bangladeshi nationals, the special chartered flight landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 2:48pm," Kamrul Islam, general manager, public relations, US-Bangla Airlines, told The Daily Star.
It was the last special flight of the private airlines, but it said they are ready to operate more pending government approval. The airlines has brought back 670 stranded Bangladeshis from Chennai through operating four flights since April 20, Kamrul said.
Earlier on April 24, Biman Bangladesh Airlines brought back 163 Bangladeshis from Delhi through its lone special flight.
