A courageous write-up, and a solid argument as to why all democracies, and especially fragile ones like  Bangladesh where democratic institutions are under continued attack by the state must preserve freedom of speech, freedom of the media and freedom of thought. Mr Anam is fighting the good fight for all of us.

Considering all the facts and ongoing political situation, one cannot hope that a re-election will be held where all parties will participate to ensure democracy in Bangladesh. The approaches and activities of the current government never seemed to be keen on building Bangladesh as a democratic country. What they need is just power to oppress us.
